Edition Residences Miami Beach at 29th and Collins was the project that proved Mid Beach could command Faena-adjacent pricing without a Faena address. Delivered 2014, the 26 oceanfront residences are integrated with the Miami Beach Edition hotel — Marriott's lifestyle brand, conceived in partnership with Ian Schrager (the same Schrager behind Studio 54 and the entire boutique-hotel category). Yabu Pushelberg designed the hotel interiors; John Pawson designed the residential unit interiors — bringing a more pared-down, architectural hand to the residences than to the hotel's guest areas. The signature amenities — Matador Room (Jean-Georges), an underground bowling alley and ice rink, a private beach club — were ahead of the curve when the project launched; well over a decade later they're still the differentiator for a lot of David's part-time-resident buyers. Resales are active in the $3M – $25M range with most full-floor units pricing above $2,500/SF. A second Edition tower is now under construction in Edgewater under the same Marriott partnership and Two Roads Development, with delivery targeted 2027 — proving the brand has standalone resale equity outside Mid Beach. The original Edition remains David's go-to comp set when valuing any boutique branded-residence resale in Mid Beach.
